Tumndo Ne Leel: A Coming of Age Concept, a Kalenjin phrase for initiation without circumcision is considered a solution to the age old practice of Female Genital Mutilation, practiced by 62% of Kalenjin community in Kenya. The practice used to be complimented with initiation which is traditional education for girls during seclusion after circumcision. The secret to ending the practice is to adopt the model which is culture specific and culturally sensitive to the community’s values.

Mission:

To provide an enabling environment for acquiring new knowledge and practical skills in formal and non-formal education improved household nutrition and food security, social and cultural transformation for empowerment and development.

 Objective:

The Center has been established to provide alternative means of livelihood, alternative rites of passage for girls and Social and cultural transformation for accelerated development.
